Wishing

While we were on vacation, we took the kids swimming at the pool. There was a kiddy pool there, so I took the younger three there so they could touch the bottom.
While we were there, Matt walked up to the young lady who was life guarding and said, "I wish that you were a mermaid!"
Needless to say, I got a very puzzled look from the lifeguard!

Where are you going?

The other day Matthew asked Dave where he was going for work. Dave answered, "Well, I think I'll head down to D.C. today."
Matt replied, "Oh! You going to D.A. too?"
Wherever that is???!!

It's a what???

The other week we went to a Chinese buffet with some friends of ours. Christiana was sitting next to one of our friends and asked if he would like to play hangman. He agreed, and she quickly drew the gallows and carefully counted out the number of letters in her word.
After a guessing a few letters, our friend decided that he needed a hint.
"What kind of word is it? Is it a noun or verb?" He asked.
Chrissy responded, "It's an onomatopoeia."

Toothless

After months of wiggling, Mark finally lost his first top tooth!
The other day he was at my mom's house. She had given him some strawberries to munch on, and after chewing on one of the berries for a few minutes Mark said, "Grammy, I think that tooth I lost must have been my sweet tooth!"

Transformation of the Heart

If any of you are familiar with Transformers, you will know that there are good guys and there are bad guys. The Autobots are the heroes of the show and they are in constant battle against the evil Decepticons.
My boys were playing Transformers as they have been doing constantly ever since they received some Transformers for Christmas. Mattthew was saying, "Some of us are Autobots and some of us are Decepticons."
Mark replied, "Yes, but when God washes away all our sins, we are all Autobots!"

transformers

My boys are all into transformers. They all got at least one transformer from Mom-mom this Christmas and are constantly transforming them back and forth as they play with each other.
The other night we were putting the kids to bed after allowing them to watch a few episodes of Transformers that we had rented. Matthew had fallen asleep during prayer time and Dave was attempting to take him to the bathroom before laying him in his bed to avoid a middle of the night bathroom incident.
Usually when this happens, if Matt doesn't need to go, he'll say something like, "I don't have any tinkle in me." Well on this particular night, as he was standing in front of the toilet he mumbled, "I can't transform!"

Happy Tunes

I've been trying to figure out which has a greater influence on Matt - His love for music or his older brothers. Maybe you can decide!
Matt's version of Jingle Bells:
"Jinger bells! Jinger bells! Jinger all the way! Robin laid an egg and the Batmobile's in a one horse open sleigh! Hey!"
