Low battery!

I always have Matthew use the bathroom before naptime in order to avoid changing his sheets. Today he just couldn't seem to go. When I asked him what the trouble was he replied, "Maybe I ran out of batteries!"

What day is it?

I asked Matt on Friday if he had used the bathroom before nap time. I was doubtful that he had, but he said he already went. I asked him when he went to the bathroom, and he answered, "Wednesday"!

When Dad Grows Up

Dave is forever stopping and helping motorists along the side of the road. I can't count the number of tires he has changed for people or the phone calls he has made for roadside assistance - for someone else!
Our kids have noticed this as well. Many of times on our vacation we will quickly pull to the side of the road with the explanation of "Daddy needs to help someone."
One of these occasions was when a car was on fire. Dave quickly pulled over, grabbed his fire extinguisher and ran to offer his help. The kids watched their Dad in awe. He was helping to put out a fire!
When Dave returned, Jim asked him, "Dad, when you grow up, are you going to be a fireman?"

Allergy Alert

On our trip to VA, the girls were playing with their dolls in the car. Apparantly they were serving dinner when Julia's doll adamantly objected to whatever was being served.
"Burnt? I can't eat burnt! I am allergic to burnt!"
